Green O Construction

About Green O Construction

You hired the wrong contractor once. Never again.

Most homeowners have a story — the guy who didn’t call back, the “lifetime” warranty that lasted nine years, the bid that doubled mid-demo. You shouldn’t need a guide for hiring a builder, but here you are. So here’s ours: a veteran-owned, 17-year company with two CCB scopes, an architect on payroll, three PE engineering partners, and crews that finish what they start. Hire us once. Stop hiring.

We build what stands.

The story

A veteran. A contract. Then 17 years of work.

Gabriel Horta Blancas served in the U.S. Army from 2004 to 2006. He left the service with two things most people overlook: the discipline to show up when nobody’s watching, and the refusal to leave a job half-finished.

In 2008 he started Green O Construction out of Beaverton. One truck. One license. One promise — if we say we’ll do it, we do it. Seventeen years later that promise is still the whole company. What changed is everything around it: two CCB license scopes (residential and commercial Level 2), a licensed architect on the payroll, three PE engineering partners on speed-dial, owned excavators in the yard, and crews that work bilingually in English and Spanish on every site.

Today Green O runs three brands under one roof — Construction, Landscape, and Cleaning — with the same license, the same owner, and the same line on every truck and hardhat. The office still sits on TV Highway in Beaverton. Gabriel still answers the phone.

“A veteran who’s been the GC for 17 years, looking a homeowner in the eye and saying: ‘I’ve got it. Here’s what we do.’”

— how Gabriel describes the job, in his own words.

What we built differently

Most of this industry rents what it needs. We hired it, certified it, and parked it in the yard.

Vertical integration isn’t a buzzword on our org chart — it’s a deliberate cost. We pay it every month so you don’t pay it on the back end in delays, sub-contractor finger-pointing, and surprise change orders.

Most GCs sub out the architect.

Architect on payroll.

Drawings move the day you decide. Revisions don't sit in someone else's inbox. The same person who drew your ADU is on site when we pour the slab.

Most GCs rent excavators.

When weather opens up, we dig. No phone calls to a rental house. No waiting in line behind three other crews on a Tuesday.

Most GCs outsource safety training.

Monthly OSHA training, in-house, documented.

Our crews train every month. We record it. We file it. Nobody steps on a Green O site without it — including the owner.

Most GCs send you to a bank.

In-house financing for qualifying projects.

Approvals don't wait on a third-party lender. When the project pencils out, we can close on terms that work — not the bank's hours.

17 years. Two licenses. One architect on payroll. Three engineering partners.

The team

The people whose names go on the work.

Green O is a W-2 company. The architect is an employee. The foremen are employees. The engineers are formal partners, not referrals. When you hire us, you hire the same team that finishes the job.

Why veteran-owned matters here

It’s not the bumper sticker. It’s the standard.

Plenty of companies put “veteran-owned” on a website because the badge is free. We use the discipline because the work demands it.

  • Show up when you said you would. 8 AM means 8 AM. If we’re late, you get a call before we’re late.

  • Inspect what you expect. Monthly OSHA training, documented and recorded. Site walk-throughs at known intervals, not when we feel like it.

  • Own the outcome. No finger-pointing at subs. If a Green O crew touched it, a Green O name is on it.

  • Close Sundays. Mon–Sat 8 AM to 7 PM. Sundays are for family and faith. The phone still answers storm calls within 24 hours — that promise is real.

We don’t sell. We explain. We recommend. We commit.

The next 17 years

Beaverton first. Then everywhere people need someone who actually finishes.

We’re not in a hurry to be everywhere. We’re in a hurry to be the company you call back, and the company your neighbor calls because of you.
